NCAA Women’s Basketball Conference Tournaments: March 9


The stage is set for the first NCAA Conference championship of the season. The OVC will crown the winner of the UT Martin (23-8, 13-5 OVC)/Belmont (25-6, 16-2 OVC) game on Saturday.

The game will take place at 3 p.m. at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Notable Players
UT Martin
  •         Emanye Robinson

 o   Leads the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game.
 o   She is also UT Martin’s leader in assists and steals with 4.9 and 2.6 per game.
 o   Third leading rebounder for UT Martin with 3.7 per game.
 o   Named OVC Defensive Player of the Year and All-OVC First Team.
 o   Averaging 22.5 points in the OVC tournament.

 o   Leads UT Martin in blocks with 2.3 per game.
 o   Second team leading scorer and rebounder with 11.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
 o   One of the second leaders in steals and has combined for 2.4 steals per game with teammate Damiah Griffin.
 o   Named to the All-OVC Second Team.

 o   Team’s second assists and steals leader with 2.4 and 1.4 per game.
 o   Third leading scorer on the team with 8.9 points per game.

Belmont
  •         Darby Maggard

 o   Second leader in assists with 4.4 per game.
 o   Named OVC Player of the Year and All-OVC First Team.
 o   Earned her 2,000th point in Belmont’s OVC semifinal win against Tennessee Tech.

o   Leads the team in rebounding with 9.0 per game.
 o   Second leading scorer on the team with 16.7 points per game.
 o   She is also second on the team in steals and blocks averaging 0.7 and 0.3 per game.
 o   Named to the OVC First Team.

 o   Block leader with teammate Jenny Roy averaging 0.5 per game.
 o   Third leading scorer and rebounder for Belmont with 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
 o   She is also Belmont’s third leader in steals with 0.6 per game.
 o   Recorded her second season double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win against Tennessee Tech.

 o   Scored her 1,000th point in Belmont’s quarterfinal win against Southeast Missouri.
 o   Named to the OVC Second Team.

  •         UT Martin will be making its seventh appearance in the OVC Championship.
