LYNCHBURG, Va. – On September 26, The Flames Club
held their annual Thank-A-Thon for the 2018-19 school year. The Liberty men’s
basketball and swimming and diving team had the opportunity to take part in it.
This year was the 19th time Flames Club got to host
this event. It was also the largest of all the Thank-A-Thons were hosted since
its debut in 2015.
14 athletes from men’s basketball and 30 athletes from swimming
and diving made about 600 calls to recent donors of the Flames Club. This
year’s Thank-A-Thon has boosted the number of calls as more than 400
student-athletes have made over 6,000 phone calls to thank donors to Liberty
Athletics.
The Flames Club’s mission is to generate financial resources to
support the three-fold Liberty athletics mission of training champions for
Christ, providing a world-class student-athlete experience and achieving
victory with integrity. Good says that the Flames Club’s goal for 2017 is to
reach 1,250 members who contribute $1 million in Annual Fund gifts.
Membership begins at just $60, and all of Flames Nation is
