Mallory Fortenbaugh earns two BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roles

Liberty field hockey junior Mallory Fortenbaugh was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in her career on Monday.

She led the Flames to a 2-0 win at No. 22 Old Dominion by scoring her first-ever winning goal. Fortenbaugh was also a driving force on defense that resulted in the Lady Flames shutting out the Monarchs on Friday.

Fortenbaugh also had an outstanding game in the Flames’ 7-1 loss to top ranked North Carolina. She also recorded her eighth assist of the season along with a defensive save.

Catch the Millerstown, Pa. native in action at home this Friday at 4 p.m. as the Lady Flames (9-4, 4-0 BIG EAST) look to go 5-0 in BIG EAST play versus Georgetown.


Fortenbaugh Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the Third Time (10/24/18)
This week, Liberty field hockey junior defender Mallory Fortenbaugh garnered another spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. This is her second one of the season, and her third one in her career.

Fortenbaugh, who hails from Millerstown, Pa., has had a tremendous week for the Lady Flames. During Sunday’s game versus No. 11 Boston College, she earned her 10th assist this season and is tied for 12th place in assists per game (0.63).

Fortenbaugh was also a key role for the Lady Flames’ defense. They were able to hold the Eagles to just one goal and 11 shots in the penalty corner.

 Fortenbaugh is currently in the top five rankings in four statistical categories on the team. She is in first place for assists (10), third place in points (16), and fourth place in goals (3) and game-winning goals (1).

 Fortenbaugh and No. 18 Liberty will play their final regular season game at BIG EAST foe Providence on Thursday at 6 p.m. If they win they will be the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament.
