Graduate- Liberty ‘17
Former Liberty cheerleader Laken Hendron returns to the squad in
her first year as an assistant coach.
Hendron first came to Liberty from her hometown of Yorktown,
Virginia, in 2012 and cheered for the Flames until she graduated in 2017.
As a freshman, she achieved Rookie of the Year honors when she
was member of the 2012-13 White Squad. Hendron helped Liberty win the CCA
National Grand Championship.
Hendron continued the rest of her collegiate career with the Red
Squad. In 2017, the team finished in 4th place at the UCA College
National Championship. They also won 2nd place at the UCA National
Partner Stunting Competition and 5th place at the NCA National
Partner Stunting Competition.
Hendron also competed on the women’s STUNT team in 2016 which
finished in the top-five. That same year, she graduated cum laude along with
her bachelor’s degree in religious studies. She went on to pursue a master’s
degree in in public health with a nutrition concentration. She graduated with
the degree in 2017.
She is now working on her master’s degree in Christian
Apologetics (M.A.C.A) at the School of Divinity. After she finishes it, she
plans to go on and get her PhD in Theology and Apologetics.
Fun fact: Hendron was featured with some of her teammates in the
music video “This is Liberty” by Humble Tip in 2016.
