UConn,
the No. 1 seed, took down conference rival No. 15 Liberty, the No.2 seed, by a
score of 5-3. The game came to the wire as both teams were scoring goals back
and forth in the first half. UConn scored the first goal of the game before
Liberty came back and scored a goal to tie the game 1-1. By halftime, the
Huskies took a 3-2 lead over the Lady Flames. In the second half, Liberty tied
the game at 3-3 before UConn scored two more goals towards the end of the game
to win the tournament. The Huskies are now 18-3 and will face Rutgers in the
first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

All-Tournament Team
UConn’s Cheyenne Sprecher, Amanda Collins, Svea Boker and
Amelia Iacobucci were all named to the 2018 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
Cecile Pieper was chosen as the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Liberty’s
Agueda Moroni, Ashley Dykema, Moniek van Aarle and Jill Bolton were also named
to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team. Others who joined them were Providence’s
Mary O’Reilly and Villanova’s Abby Siana.
