CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- Liberty traveled to Chattanooga on Wednesday and lost 75-60. The Mocs were on fire shooting 8-15 from the field in the first quarter.
Chattanooga led in points in each of the first three quarters of the game (1st
quarter: 23-13, 2nd quarter: 14-4, 3rd quarter: 19-14).
The effort by the Mocs was too much for the Lady Flames to handle. However,
Liberty would gain its momentum at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The
Lady Flames went on a 29-19 run that included six fast breaks. It would not be
enough for Liberty to come back to win the game. The Lady Flames were led by
Memphis native Emily Lytle who finished with 21 points. This is the third time
the sophomore has been a leading scorer for Liberty this season. Liberty drops
to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in road games.
Chattanooga improves to 3-2 on the season. The Mocs were led
by Eboni Williams who scored 15 points. Chattanooga also had three other
players that scored in double digits (Mya Long (13), Lakelyn Bouldin (11),
Shelbie Davenport (10)).
Up next, the Lady Flames head up to Lehigh to participate in
the Christmas City Classic. Liberty will begin the tournament against Charlotte
on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
